Golden Bauhinia Square May-Fourth Flag Raising Ceremony

The May Fourth Flag Raising Ceremony is an annual event holding on 4 May at the Golden Bauhinia Square to commemorate the May Fourth Movement.  Representatives from all youth uniformed groups will go through a selection exercise and the two teams with the best performance will have the privilege to raise the National Flag of the People's Republic of China and the Regional Flag of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) respectively in the ceremony.  The St. John flag-raising team was selected in the below years.

Flag Raising Ceremony at Golden Bauhinia Square

Since 2008, Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Brigade Youth Command has been participating in the flag raising ceremony organized by the Home Affairs Bureau.  Each of the youth uniformed groups in Hong Kong holds the ceremony in turns at the Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai on the second Sunday morning of every month.  Youth members participating in this ceremony are recommended by leaders from their respective uniformed groups and received specialized training beforehand.
